Hello! If I reserve a room using my points for family members do I need to be there to sign them in? I may be arriving at a later time than them now.

Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, Lorrie!

You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney. I love helping other Disney Vacation Club Members make magic for their own families and I'm so glad you stopped by with your question. For me, there's nothing better than planning a Walt Disney World Resort visit when the whole family gets to come along –– how exciting that you'll be sharing the joy, laughter, and magical experiences together as a family during your upcoming vacation!

I've got some great news –– while you might be listed as the primary contact for your reservation as a Disney Vacation Club Member, as long as your family members are registered as Guests in your room, they shouldn't have any trouble accessing the Resort or your accommodations if they arrive before you.  In fact, I had a similar situation during a recent visit.  Due to a delayed flight, my friend arrived at Disney's Beach Club Villas several hours before I did and when I finally reached the Resort, I found her happily lounging at Stormalong Bay.  To make things as easy as possible, just be sure that you've linked each person on your reservation to your Friends & Family List in My Disney Experience –– that way they'll be able to scan their MagicBand or Disney MagicMobile pass once they arrive at your Resort.

Since it sounds like you'll be arriving at different times, I also suggest using Disney's Online Check-In service before your visit –– this will allow you and the rest of your travel party to skip the front desk and head directly to your room.  With this service, you can check your status in the My Disney Experience mobile app and you'll receive a push notification or text message once your room is ready.  Then, any Guests registered in your room will be able to use the app or a MagicBand to unlock your room door.  I love how easy and convenient this makes our family's Resort arrival and I definitely recommend taking advantage of it during your upcoming stay.

Thanks for visiting planDisney, Lorrie.  I'm wishing you and your family lots of pixie dust and DVC Membership magic during your upcoming visit!

    Happy Planning,
    Amy
