Hi George! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
Thanks for bringing me your planning question for next year! My family and I visited the first week of December this past year and we really loved it. The weather was amazing, the crowds were lower than visiting during Thanksgiving or Christmas week, and the holiday festivities and decorations take the excitement of the
Christmas season to a whole new level!
Room-only reservations can be made up to 499 days in advance.
Vacation packages (where you include Walt Disney World tickets, Disney dining plans, etc.) are typically released in the summer of the year prior. Vacation packages were released for booking for 2018 in June 2017, so I expect vacation packages for 2019 will be released in the next month or so. Since you aren't quite at the 499-day mark for an early December 2019 vacation, you will need to wait a little bit before booking, but once the reservations open for your window, I definitely recommend booking it as soon as you can. Simply because you will find more availability for you stay that way.
Once you have your vacation booked, keep an eye on the
Special Offers for any that are available for your trip. These are released much closer to your visit. Then you can call Disney where a Cast Member can help to apply the Special Offer and let you know how much money you can save!
Let me know if you have any other planning questions for your stay at
Disney's Contemporary Resort! Happy planning!
