Hi Danny!
In just weeks you will be in
Walt Disney World in sight of Cinderella Castle ready to fly with Dumbo, plummet down the Magic Kingdom mountain range, and cruise with yo ho ho singing pirates!
Sometime this fall-let's hope before your visit-a new system that allows you to plan for even more attractions than the three that FastPass+ allowed will be implemented in the Disney parks.
Disney's Genie+ is a purchased add-on to your ticket that allows you to pick the next available time for a Lightning Lane entrance, one attraction at a time. The Lightning Lane allows you to by-pass the stand-by line just as FastPass+ did. For example, you pick 9:30 am to board Space Mountain. After zipping and dipping on the dark coaster, you may pick a return time for the next attraction. No advance ride reservations are required and you may continue to choose return times all day, one at a time. The program's start date has not been announced, but you will be able to add it on to previously purchased tickets.
Highly popular attractions, such as the
Magic Kingdom's Seven Dwarfs Mine Train will be unavailable with Genie+. These sought after experiences may be accessed through the traditional queue or with a separately purchased Lightning Lane pass. Disney has not yet announced which rides will be Genie+ and which ones will require a separate Lightning Lane selection.
Wishing you a wonderful visit to see Mickey!
