I am so excited that you are officially part of the happiest family on earth. The
Magic Key community is full of Disneyland loving friends, and you are about to enjoy a truly magical year with your new pass. I am happy to share that yes, you can absolutely make
Disneyland theme park reservations even if your Magic Key is not activated yet. You have one year from the date of purchase to activate your pass, and it will officially activate the first time you scan into a theme park or parking area.
One important step is making sure your Magic Key is linked in the
Disneyland mobile app. If you have not done that yet, it is quick and easy. Tap the menu button in the lower right corner, the one that looks like three lines. From there, select My Tickets and Passes, tap the blue plus sign, and then scan or manually enter your Magic Key ID number. As a little bonus tip, you can also link tickets or Magic Keys for family and friends. That makes booking Lightning Lanes together much easier, and you can follow the same steps to link additional passes.
Your Magic Key comes with so many great
perks. Depending on the pass you purchased, you can enjoy discounted or complimentary parking,
savings on select dining and merchandise, and early access or discounts for special events. There are even amazing room rates at the three onsite
Disneyland Resort Hotels for Magic Key members! I utilize them often! One of my personal favorite perks is the
Magic Key Terrace in Disney California Adventure Park. This “members only” spot has a wonderful menu of food, along with both cocktails and non-alcohol based beverages, and it is one of my favorite places to rest and recharge. My best friend, who is my go-to Disney buddy, and I love sharing the Meats and Cheeses or the Focaccia platter. Just thinking about it makes my tummy rumble!
