Hay there, Cynthia!
Welcome back to planDisney - we're so glad you've returned with another wonderful
Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question. Oh boy - it looks like you're planning another visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth next month! I'm happy to help you prepare for a rootin' tootin' time at
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.
Cynthia, get ready for the
wildest ride in the wilderness - just kidding! On a
horse-drawn carriage excursion, you'll enjoy a leisurely and relaxing ride through the lush forests of Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. These 25-minute carriage rides can accommodate up to four adults (or up to two adults and three small children) and can be
booked online up to 60 days in advance as part of the Enchanted Extras Collection! Cynthia, I spoke with a friendly Cast Member at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground who informed me that Guests can only book one carriage ride per timeslot per
My Disney Experience account, so if you're hoping to book multiple carriage rides within the same window of time, I encourage you to split the bookings between members of your travel party.
The number of carriages available in a given timeslot can vary, Cynthia. Though may not be four horse-drawn carriages available within the same timeframe, I'd like to suggest an alternative!
Horse-drawn wagon rides offer a similar 25-minute experience but are more accommodating for larger groups. Wagons depart from Pioneer Hall every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. and Guests don't need to book rides ahead of time. Tickets for these experiences are sold by the driver near Pioneer Hall 20 minutes before each scheduled departure time! Since the wagons are much larger than the carriages, your entire party should be able to ride at the same time.
Yee-haw!Cynthia, as someone who loves horses, stopping by
Tri-Circle-D Ranch is on my "must-do" list every time I visit the Walt Disney World Resort. During your time at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, be sure to drop by this beautiful facility to say hello to the Happiest Horses on Earth! The stables are open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily and are home to the famous Dragon Calliope that Walt Disney purchased in the 1950s to feature in a parade at Disneyland Park. Horses
and history - it doesn't get any better than that!
I hope you've found this information helpful, Cynthia. I'm wishing you and your travel party a magical and memorable vacation! If you have any additional planning questions, feel free to gallop on back to
planDisney again anytime. We're here to help you make the most of your time at The Most Magical Place on Earth!
Happy trails,
Lauren
