Hiya, Timmy!
Welcome to planDisney. We're delighted you've dropped by with a wonderful
Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question!
Oh boy... your family will be arriving at The Most Magical Place on Earth in just a short couple of days. As you prepare for a
Fantasmic! Walt Disney World Resort vacation, let's chat about your transportation options from the Orlando International Airport to your Disney Resort hotel.
Timmy,
Minnie Van service is a paid personal ride service powered by Lyft, available to Guests wishing to be whimsically whisked between locations within the Walt Disney World Resort. While this service offers a quick and convenient transportation option (with character!), it doesn't transport Guests to or from locations outside Walt Disney World Resort property. Rather, it's a terrific choice for those Guests hoping to travel between Disney Resort hotels, to the Disney water parks, and other on-site locations. However, I'm happy to inform you that you'll have access to several other great
transportation options once you touch down at Orlando International Airport.
When it comes to reliable, inexpensive transportation to the Walt Disney World Resort, I usually choose to reserve a ride with Mears Connect, a third-party shuttle bus service that transfers Guests between the airport and the
Disney Resort hotels. If possible, I recommend booking this service in advance to ensure your family's wait will be minimal once you arrive at the airport. This service offers either standard or express options. With the standard service, your shuttle may make additional stops at other Resort hotels on property before stopping at yours, while the express option is direct and non-stop.
If your family won't need car seats, you might consider a third-party rideshare service, like Lyft or Uber, for your airport transfers. I typically utilize this option when I'm traveling solo or with a small group of adults, as it represents a quick and efficient option at only a slightly increased cost over Mears Connect. Alternatively, you could rent a vehicle for use during your Walt Disney World Resort vacation. During family visits, we almost always rent a minivan from Orlando International Airport nowadays. Since my little Mouseketeer still rides in a car seat and takes midday naps at our Disney Resort hotel, this option adds convenience and value to our stays!
Timmy, I hope you've found these recommendations helpful as you gear up for a fun-filled getaway! If you happen to have any more questions ahead of your visit, you're always welcome to return to
planDisney for help. We're all ears!
See ya real soon,
Lauren
