Hi Alicia! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question!
With the introduction of
Disney Genie+ and
Individual Lightning Lane selections, there is a lot to learn in order to use these services properly during your visit. By purchasing Disney Genie+, it gives you access to a number of attractions at each of the four theme parks. You'll be able to book Lightning Lane reservations in order to bypass the standby queue. Individual Lightning Lane attractions are available for one or two popular attractions at each park and must be purchased separately from Disney Genie+. Even though they have similar functions, they are not tied together and act as stand-alone services.
To make your first Disney Genie+ selection, log on to your
My Disney Experience App the morning of your park day. Then starting at 7 AM, you will be able to select the next available arrival window for your first selection. Each Guest in your party will only be able to hold one selection at this time. You are not able to make multiple selections using different mobile devices. Once the park officially opens, if your selection is within the first two hours, you can ride that attraction by scanning your
MagicBand at the Lightning Lane entrance, then you can make your next selection using the app. If your arrival window is more than two hours after park opening, you will be able to make a second selection at that two-hour mark. For example, if your arrival window for
Slinky Dog Dash is between 2 PM - 3 PM and
Disney's Hollywood Studios opened at 9 AM that morning, you will be able to make your second Lightning Lane reservation at 11 AM.
There is one way to hold two Lightning Lane selections at 7 AM the morning of your park visit. If you are staying at a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel or other select hotels, you can make an Individual Lightning Lane reservation at this time. Since these attractions offered with this service are separate from the Disney Genie+ selections, you can hold one Individual Lightning Lane and one Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane at 7 AM. Again, this perk is only offered to Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel.
Alicia, I hope this information is helpful on your upcoming stay in the Fall! Have the most magical time at the
Walt Disney World Resort!
Happy planning!
Greg
