Bright Suns, Adam! Welcome to planDisney.
Meeting with Savi’s Gatherers and building a customized lightsaber at Savi’s Workshop in
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is one of my very favorite experiences at the Walt Disney World Resort. I could feel the Force flowing as I activated my saber! It's an incredible experience building your very own lightsaber, and you'll leave Savi's Workshop with a one-of-a-kind souvenir and a fantastic memory.
I see your visit to Walt Disney World begins tomorrow, so let’s get you the information you need. You will need to make a reservation at Savi’s Workshop; although limited walk-up appointments may be available, this is not guaranteed, and during a busy spring break week, I wouldn’t gamble like Lando. To make your reservation, visit the
Savi’s Workshop web page, read through all the information, and use their availability finder to search for a reservation time. Note that you will need a
Disney Park Pass reservation for Disney’s Hollywood Studios to enter the park for your lightsaber reservation. When you make the reservation, you’ll be asked to provide a credit card number as a guarantee. The cost of the experience is currently $199.99 (subject to change) and you'll pay when you arrive at Savi’s to build your lightsaber. If you don’t find a reservation right away, channel Princess Leia and say “help me,
My Disney Experience, you’re my only hope” – in other words, keep checking for reservation availability, as Guests may cancel.
If you’re not able to secure a reservation for Savi’s Workshop, I recommend a visit to
Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities. Dok’s collection of relics from both the light and dark sides is “impressive…very impressive” and I consider it a must-visit for Star Wars fans. In this shop, you’re able to purchase pre-built lightsabers in a variety of styles, including styles specific to certain characters. If you do visit, ask a Cast Member to help you select your souvenir, as they are filled with fantastic information about each relic and item in the shop.
When visiting Batuu, be sure to stop at
Milk Stand for a cup of frosty blue milk. I find it very refreshing in the suns of Black Spire Outpost, and it's another great moment as you live your Star Wars adventure.
May the Force be with you during your visit this week, Adam!
