Hi John and welcome home! The
Top of the World Lounge – A Villains Lair is without a doubt my favorite Disney Vacation Club member lounge in all of Walt Disney World. The theming, the delicious food and drinks, and the views, it literally makes you feel like you’re on top of the world!
John, you’re correct that at the beginning of this year the Disney Vacation Club updated its process for securing a complimentary fireworks viewing. This DVC benefit can be booked by calling
Member Services to reserve. Similar to
table-service dining reservations, this can be booked up to 60 days in advance of your arrival, subject to availability. On the day of your visit, you can park at the Contemporary Resort 2 hours before your reservation time and can check-in 60 minutes before the
fireworks at Magic Kingdom starts.
If you’re unable to secure a reservation, don’t fret! You can always inquire about same-day walk-up starting at 6:00PM at the entrance to the lounge on the 16th floor of Bay Lake Tower. And just in case that’s unavailable there are some great spots to view the Magic Kingdom fireworks, complete with the accompanying music, at the surrounding Magic Kingdom resorts. Some of my favorite spots include the observation deck on the fourth floor of
Disney’s Contemporary Resort, the boat launch just outside of Gasparilla Island Grill at
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and the beach along the Seven Seas Lagoon at Disney’s
Polynesian Village Resort.
In addition, as you’re making that call to Member Services, don’t forget to mention that you’re interested in booking the complimentary fireworks viewing, as the lounge also offers the Wicked Wind Down service, which includes a choice of themed cocktail and appetizer, along with a chef’s selection of a sweet dessert.
John, I hope you find this information helpful and please come back and visit us at
planDisney soon. My fellow panelists and I would be happy to assist with any other questions you may have.
Your pal,
Sean
