Hi, there!
Welcome to planDisney, Jayme. I'm so happy you stopped by and even happier to hear you're planning a visit to the
Walt Disney World Resort this January! What a magical way to
kick off the new year.
A Disney vacation with a big group is sure to be BIG fun. Making a dining reservation for your party of 11 is a great way to coordinate a time for all of you to sit back, relax, and chat about the adventure-filled days you're sure to experience during your vacation. I'm pleased to tell you that you may absolutely reserve
dining experiences for a party of 11. Depending on the dining location, you may need to make two separate reservations for two smaller parties at overlapping times. I once traveled to the Walt Disney World Resort with my extended family of 14 and we had no trouble getting the dining reservations we were hoping for. For most dining experiences, I was able to make one reservation for a party of 14. There were a few instances, though, in which I had to make one reservation for a party of 7 and another reservation for a party of 7. In those cases, I just let the Cast Member at the check-in stand know that we were actually one party together. It sometimes meant a bit longer of a wait to be seated, but we were either seated all together at one table or seated between two tables next to one another.
Dining reservations can be made up to 60-days in advance. The
online dining reservation system will open up availability beginning at 6:00 AM on that 60-day mark. I recommend waking up bright and early, making yourself a cup of coffee (in a Disney mug, of course!), and having your computer or personal device fired up and ready to go by 5:45 AM. That way, you'll be among the first to search for reservation availability!
I suggest booking at least one
Character Dining Experience. I love these meals for my family because we can fill our bellies and visit with beloved Disney Characters, all in one place! My family especially loves
Chef Mickey's,
Breakfast à la Art with Mickey & Friends at Topolino's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera, and
The Crystal Palace.
I hope this was helpful, Jayme. Please let us know if you have any other questions about your Walt Disney World Resort vacation! We'd love to help you plan a magical stay.
