Hey Howdy Hey Leslie and welcome to planDisney!
A rainy day in Walt Disney World Resort is always better than a day at work right? At least that is my life's motto! One of my top tips for anyone going to the Parks is to make sure to bring your rain gear. The rain in central Florida comes as quickly as it goes at times with a quick downpour to make the few hours after very uncomfortable if you forget your rain gear. Sometimes though, the rain just sticks around all day but in either case, there are plenty of options to still enjoy your time in the parks so let's talk about these.
No matter which park you are in, there are a lot of things to do indoors from various attractions, shopping, dining and just seeing the sites in the Parks. I am totally on team rain jacket in these instances and try not to let a little rain take away from our time in the parks. One big benefit of this option is the reduced crowds. Many locals might not feel so inclined to visit the parks and the times we have been there during rainy days, wait times for the attractions we were able to experience were not as long as during the non-rainy days.
The other thing that you can do as the time gets closer involves changing the date of your ticket considering they are non-refundable. If you think that the day you will be in the parks is just too risky to try because of the rain, you can always try and rebook your
Theme Park Reservation and change the date of your ticket. You will be able to do both from your
My Disney Experience account online or your
My Disney Experience app. When you log on to your account, click on the "My Plans" section. Scroll down until you get to the "My Plans, Reservations and Tickets" section. At the top of that menu, you should see the "Tickets and Memory Maker" option. You should be able to see your tickets and the dates they are good for. You will be able to cancel your Theme Park Reservation, book a new one as well as modify the date for your ticket to be used. This process is subject to availability and I would strongly suggest looking at the reservation availability before you cancel any of your plans. Also know that if you change the date of your ticket or the park to visit, if the date or park you want to change to is more expensive, you will be charged the difference.
I love that Disney realizes that there will be people in the parks for the first and possibly only time and goes to great lengths to try and make each day as consistent as possible. That goes for all attractions and shows. As long as it is safe to do so, a little drizzle won't necessarily stop a parade or some of the outdoor attractions. I hope things work out well for your trip in April, fingers are crossed for some amazing weather! If you have any further questions let us know, we love talking about all things Disney!
See ya real soon,
Nick
