How do I reserve a cabana on castaway key?

    Hiya, Todd,

Guests can reserve a Cabana on Disney Castaway Cay by visiting the My Reservations page on the Disney Cruise Line website and reserving a corresponding Port Adventure. Port Adventures and other activities can be reserved after your cruise is fully paid and your activity booking window has opened. To do so, look under the My Plans tab of the My Reservations page. Alternatively, Guests staying in a Concierge-level stateroom may email or call the Concierge Service for support in booking a Cabana.

I should warn you that the number of Cabanas is very limited and they are highly sought. It's very common for all of the Cabanas to be fully reserved by the time the activity booking windows open up for first-time Guests and Silver Castaway Club members. This is typically the case for Cabanas on both the Family Beach and at the adults-only Serenity Bay. On rare occasions, a reservation may be canceled. So it may be possible to find one available by frequently checking the My Plans page. On some sailings, the Port Adventures desk onboard the ship may also accept names on a waitlist.

I admit that I felt disappointed to find that my family was unable to find an available Cabana reservation for our first visit to Disney Castaway Cay nearly a decade ago. We finally experienced the Cabanas for the first time last summer while sailing with friends who were booked in concierge staterooms. We had a truly luxurious and relaxing experience. I highly recommend it.

That said, I also believe that a Cabana rental isn't necessarily the best way to experience Castaway Cay for all Guests. That is particularly the case for first-time visitors to the island. My wife pointed out to me that if you have rented a Cabana, you tend to want to spend the entire time only in the Cabana or nearby beach to take advantage of that experience as much as possible. But that may rob you of the opportunity to explore and enjoy so many other offerings available on the island. For my family, some of our favorite activities on Castaway Cay have been a bike ride to the Observation Tower, petting stingrays, the Castaway Cay 5K run, parasailing, and simply enjoying the Pelican Plunge area and the family beach.

Todd, thanks for the opportunity to help a fellow resident of the Beehive State. No matter what you and your party do at Disney Castaway Cay, you are sure to have a magical time. If you have any more questions about your upcoming Disney cruise, please sail on by to planDisney any time. We are happy to help!

    Bon voyage, Todd!
