It brings me joy whenever I learn that someone will be visiting
Disney Castaway Cay! This is because Disney Castaway Cay is legitimately one of my favorite places on Earth! With its stunning turquoise waters, white sandy beaches, and favorite Disney Pals around each corner, it’s the most magical beach day anyone can ask for!
One way to make an already perfect day at Disney Castaway Cay even better is by adding your own little residence for the day in the form of a cabana rental. However, I know from experience just how coveted those cabanas are! I’ll guide you through the process to try to snag one before you arrive at Disney Castaway Cay.
First, reservations for activities on board as well as Port Adventures, are made based on your
Castaway Club status. This is why a cabana rental can be more difficult to secure. Since Concierge Guests have priority booking, followed by Pearl and Platinum Guests, by the time Gold, Silver, and First-Time Guests log in to make their onboard activity reservations, cabana rentals are limited. Limited, but definitely not impossible to snag!
To reserve a cabana, log in to your reservation either on the Disney Cruise Line website or the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App. Go into “My Plans” and click on the day you’re visiting Disney Castaway Cay. If there’s a cabana rental available, you can make the reservation here under the “Port Adventures” section. If there isn’t one available, it will give you the option to check on board, which is probably the case here.
Once on board your cruise, you can go to the Port Adventures desk, and a Cast Member will be happy to help. Keep in mind that reservations are not guaranteed, and you might still not find one, but it doesn’t hurt to try! I suggest visiting the Port Adventures desk as soon as you board your cruise to maximize your chances of finding one. This is what I always do when I’m trying to secure a hard-to-get reservation, and it helps tremendously!
Now, let’s say you weren’t able to grab a cabana rental. All hope for a fun day is most definitely not lost! In fact, Stephany, I can almost tell you from now that even just sitting on a sandy sidewalk at Disney Castaway Cay without so much as a beach chair will be one of the best sandy sitdowns you’ve ever experienced, because there’s so much to do and see on the island! I’ve been to Disney Castaway Cay MANY times, with a cabana rental and without, and no matter what, this day is always one of the best days out of the whole year! I understand the desire for the cabana to have your own little beachy haven for the day, but if you’re unable to rent one for this voyage, you will still be able to have a blast on the island without it. There are so many beachy areas throughout the island that you will be torn about where you want to dip your toes in first. Not to mention all the activities sprinkled throughout, such as my favorite activity,
bike riding!
