    i have reservations at wilderness cabins. my husband and i have had knee replacements and would like a cabin close to main bldg.  what do suggest?  thank you

    There are really only two cabins close the main buildings of Fort Wilderness.  They can be hard to reserve and they sit among RV sites.  You can put your request in and ask for either of the two cabins in Loop 100.

    I would also suggest you consider reserving a golf cart for your visit.  This will make it very easy for you and your husband to get around this large Fort Wilderness area with ease.  You can drive them to the Trading Posts, pools, recreation areas, and bus depot near the front entrance.  You can park them in the areas designated just for this and it will alleviate a lot of walking or waiting for the buses. They run about $50 a day so it is an added expense but certainly an enjoyable one.  You can get more information by calling 407-824-2742.
