Howdy, Sandy! Thanks for moseying on over to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. Let's get to chowing down in the wilderness!
Now, I have a lot of Walt Disney World Resort hotels that I claim as my favorites, but Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground has truly become like a second home. We love "glamping" in one of the sweet little cabins there, and we've had many a stick-to-your-ribs meal at
Trails End Restaurant. It's really something of a hidden gem among Walt Disney World dining spots, so I'm happy to help you make your way there as easily as possible.
Walt Disney World bus transportation serves all of the Resort hotels, including Fort Wilderness, but you can only take a bus from your Resort to a Theme Park or Disney Springs. There's no direct service between Resort hotels. That means you'll need to go to a Park first, and then transfer. My advice is to take the bus to the Magic Kingdom entrance, then head over to the boat launches and take a leisurely cruise to Fort Wilderness, which should take about 20 minutes or so. Once you arrive, it's a short walk from the marina to Pioneer Hall, the home of Trails End.
Another possibility is to use
Disney's Minnie Van Service to go directly from your Resort hotel to Fort Wilderness. It should drop you off at the bus stop adjacent to Pioneer Hall. It's an extra charge, but it is the most direct option.
I hope you enjoy the vittles at Trails End, Sandy. Please come on back by if you have any more questions, ya hear?
