Howdy Tiffiny!
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is my favorite Walt Disney World Resort! Even though it may not be where you are staying this trip, I'm happy that you'll be getting a peak at this beautiful resort just by dining there.
Getting to Fort Wilderness can be a little tricky. If you choose to drive, you can park in the Reception Depot parking lot, which is right at the front after security. You will then need to take an internal bus at the Outpost Depot, across the parking lot from Reception, to the Settlement Depot where
Trail's End Restaurant is located. You can take the red or the yellow bus line back and forth between the Outpost Depot and the Settlement Depot, but they do make multiple stops along the way at different camping loops. Allow yourselves extra time for taking the internal bus.
Another option for transportation is by watercraft. There is a boat that will take you from Magic Kingdom Park right to the marina of Fort Wilderness, which is where Trail's End Restaurant is located. If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort, take a bus to
Magic Kingdom Park and then the boat to Fort Wilderness.
Which one should you choose? Time wise it could be a wash, but I always enjoy a lovely ride on the water.
Have a magical day!
