It’s 10/2 reservations were supposed to be released for the storyteller café for the 28th today as far as I understand at 6 AM PST. Is that not so ? It’s now 6:40 am and it still says “no reservations available” from the 17th - Dec 1st.

    Hi Roy,

Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question! I was so excited to hear about Mickey’s Christmas Carol Feast at Storytellers Cafe. The outfits Mickey and the gang wear for the Christmas Carol theme look amazing!

Disneyland doesn’t have a hard reservation drop time like Disney World, but reservations typically open around 6 AM. We panelists were all on pins and needles when 6 AM came and went! Our group chat was buzzing, wondering when the reservation times would go live.

As I write this, I see that the reservation calendar now extends to December 6, but I’m not seeing any reservations available yet. Storytellers Cafe is always a hot ticket, add on the top-tier theming and unique costumes, and it's no wonder reservations went like hotcakes. I know it might feel like Scrooge is trying to ruin Christmas, but fear not! I have some emergency tips you can use:

    Tip #1:
Stop by the restaurant when it opens on your preferred dining date. Sometimes, there are slots available for same-day reservations. I’ve been lucky enough to score a walk-up reservation for breakfast, so here’s hoping you’ll have the same pixie-dusted luck for dinner!

    Tip #2:
Storytellers Cafe also offers a Virtual Walk-Up List through the Disneyland app (subject to availability). This is another great way to try for a same-day reservation.

    Tip #3:
Keep checking the dining reservations page regularly. People often change or cancel plans, and new reservations pop up all the time. You never know, so check daily, especially the week of your trip and the night before your visit.

If you decide to visit the Grand Californian Hotel, be sure to stop by the main lobby. There’s typically a beautiful seasonal display, and at select times, a live pianist plays festive holiday tunes. Grab a sweet treat from the snack cart in the lobby, find a cozy spot by the fireplace, and soak in all the holiday vibes!

I hope this information is helpful, Roy! If you have any other questions or need more planning tips, feel free to write back to me or one of my fellow planDisney panelists. We’d be happy to sprinkle a little pixie dust onto your planning.

    Good luck!
