we have reservations to stay at WDW Port Orleans Riverside in June. The resort looks so big. Is there a way to make sure we get a room close to the pool, food court and buses or should we try to move our res. to the smaller PO French Quarter?

    Debbie:

When our family stayed at Port Orleans, we had a nice location and I'd recommend it. We requested Building 18 because it was between the main complex, the pool, and the bus stop. It was also away from the Parking Lot, but off the path that was right next to the main building.

We were lucky and got the building we requested, but we visited in September when crowds were low.  Because you're going in June, you may not have that luxury.  If you request a building on your reservation, make sure that Disney knows what you're looking for--and in the order you want them, so that if a specific building is full, they can try to accommodate your wish list.

Personally, I love French Quarter for its smaller feel and one bus stop, but if you're planning on spending time at the pool, Riverside's is better, so I'd stay put.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
