Hi. I had reservations for 10/13 to stay on site and for tickets at WDW. I purchased my park tickets separately through Disney a few days ago to beat the price increase. If Disney offers free dining, will I be able to take advantage of that?

    Hi, Kathleen!

To take advantage of the Disney Dining Plan (whether or not it is free) you must include park tickets and book a vacation package (room/tickets/dining).  You have a few options if you already have tickets:

-Save your tickets that you just bought for a future vacation as they do not expire until you use them for the first time. (If you added No Expiration, tickets will never expire.)
-Purchase the minimum number of days of tickets (you will have to read the fine print of the special offer) then use your tickets for the rest of the days.

Once Special Offers become available, also check for "room only" discounts, use  your current tickets and pay out of pocket for dining.  With the money you save on your room and beating the price increase, you will probably be about even.

I know this is crazy - you have to be a math wizard to figure out the pricing sometimes.  Let me know if you need more clarification.

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
