We have reservations to stay at the Colorado Springs Resort at the end of August, do you think it would be worth changing rooms to stay in the new Grand Desino Tower?

Hey there, Kathy (love your name!), and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Let's explore one of the newest additions to the Walt Disney World Resort - the Gran Destino Tower at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort!

So, full disclosure, my family has never stayed at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, but we'll be rectifying that fact this July and I'm so excited! Everything at the Resort hotel will be new to us, but I'm really looking forward to checking out things like the Lost City of Cibola Pool, the Rix Sports Bar and Grill (for my little sports fan!), and Toledo - Tapas, Steaks & Seafood, located high atop the gleaming new Gran Destino Tower. I bet the views will be amazing!

I'm all about going for the new, so I say if you can get a room in the Gran Destino Tower for your stay, go for it! We actually did try to reserve a Tower room for my family's trip in July, but none were available on our dates. I just checked the room-only rate for the first date of your vacation in August, and I did see some availability. Also, prices for the Tower rooms aren't much more than the rooms in the other areas of the Resort hotel. If you can make it work, I'd do it!

I can't wait to see Disney's Coronado Springs Resort for the first time, Kathy, and I hope you have un buen tiempo at this Spanish-themed jewel as well. Have fun planning, and do come see us again if you have any more questions!

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

    Kathy K.

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
