If we have reservations for Seats and Sweets Dessert Party at Magic Kingdom can we check in early, be assigned a table, then leave (all of us) to watch the Starlight Parade and return to the same table? Will our table be held for us?

    Welcome to planDisney, Debra!

Ooh, you have made the most magical plan for your visit to Walt Disney World! While nothing beats experiencing the majesty of Happily Ever Ever right up close to Cinderella Castle, I think the very best way to do so is through a Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Party!

One of my favorite features of Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties: Seats and Sweets is the location. You'll be seated at Tomorrowland Terrace and a table will be reserved just for you and your party. Most guests drop their bags and head right to the delicious dessert buffet then grab a hot or cold beverage. As such, there's a lot of hustle and bustle throughout your visit. No need to worry about your table being held for you if you step away from it. Just be sure to leave a jacket, hat, or inexpensive bag on the spot so that it's clear your table is occupied.

Your particular dessert party allows entrance an hour in advance of the fireworks so check the park calendar to coordinate your time of arrival. Depending on the schedule, you might be able to catch Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away before checking into the party. For example, when we were there, Starlight began at 7:45, and Happily Ever After started at 9:00. On that night, guests could enjoy this beautiful parade prior to checking into that dessert party. You should also check the Magic Kingdom Calendar to see if there is a second Starlight parade as some nights feature another performance later that same evening. On that link, just change the calendar date (near the top left corner) to see the latest schedule of all the fun.

My husband and I enjoyed a dessert party just last weekend, and I have to say that no matter how many times I do this, it is always the highlight of our visit! Cast Members are so very gracious, the food is truly outstanding--hello, beautiful Bayou Peach Cobbler--and there are lots of beverages to keep everyone happy. Then comes the pinnacle part of the night: that fireworks view. It is truly spectacular!

Debra, enjoy every magical moment of your visit. As you think of additional planning questions, be sure to send them our way. We love to help!
