Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Rhiannen! As the locals say on the planet of Batuu, where
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is located, Bright Suns!
Building a lightsaber at
Savi’s Workshop is one of my favorite experiences at the Walt Disney World Resort. I had tears in my eyes at the end of the ceremony, and the whole experience is truly incredible, from the moment the Gatherers greet you outside the workshop to the moment you feel the Force flowing through your saber and you see it light up. You are going to love it!
Rhiannen, I think you’re probably cutting it too close with those two reservations. In my experience, and from what I’ve heard from others, you may wait a few minutes before being admitted into Savi’s – they have to take caution with so many First Order Stormtroopers patrolling the area. While the experience takes approximately 20 minutes, you’ll have to pack up your lightsaber and walk over to
Oga’s Cantina (it’s a short walk). I recommend checking to see if you can modify the time of your reservation at Oga’s. The experience at Savi’s is truly one-of-a-kind, and I don’t want you worrying about the time when you should be immersed in building your lightsaber.
Oga’s is very small, and their official policy is that late arrivals may not be accommodated. It’s usually okay to be a few minutes late for most Walt Disney World Resort dining reservations, but when that happens you can expect to wait until they can find space for you. I’ve had really good luck changing dining reservations and finding times that better meet my plans, so just keep checking in the
My Disney Experience app, and I’ll send you my pixie-dusted wishes that a more suitable time pops up for you.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is gorgeous at night, and I hope you enjoy the fantastic experiences you have planned. Be sure to take time to explore the land, because there are so many wonderful touches – seeing droid tracks in the ground outside
Droid Depot brought a huge smile to my face. Enjoy your Star Wars Adventure!
May The Force Be With You,
