Hi Marian,
Welcome to planDisney! Thank you for dropping by with a great question.
It sounds like you have booked a
vacation package to the Walt Disney World® Resort. If so, then your reservation should be linked in your MyDisney account. Try logging into MyDisney, going to My Disney Experience and scroll to see your vacation package reservation. If you see a link to modify, you may be able to add that
Disney Dining Plan. If you cannot add it through My Disney Experience, you can
contact a cast member for assistance.
Hearing that you have a reservation at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, brings me joy! This is a gorgeous resort hotel. I absolutely adore the resort grounds - they are so peaceful. It's also nice to have access to a Table-service restaurant.
Boatwright's Dining Hall is a hidden gem. Be sure to review all of your
dining options at this resort hotel.
As you consider those dining options, remember that, with a dining plan, your meals are calculated
per night of stay. So, before each trip, I count how many total meals we will have to use and I make plans accordingly. In our family's vacation plan spreadsheet, we make a note if a meal is Quick-Service or Table-Service and I count our meals to make sure the number aligns with how many we will receive on the dining plan. If we have additional meals, I make a note of it so that I can track our expenses.
Marian, I hope this helps! On a recent trip, we used the
Disney Dining Plan. We prefer table-service meals so I had to do some work to make sure we had some quick-service meals planned. I did wind up paying for an additional table-service meal because we arrived quite early on our first day so we had used all of our meals and snacks on the dining plan by the last night. Our final breakfast at
Steakhouse 71 was not covered by our dining plan but we love having one last meal on check-out day so we had planned for this. Sending a little touch of pixie dust trusting that you will get that dining plan added and make all of the dining reservations your
heart desires!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
