I have reservations for Portobello Restaurant in DD. I like to try new things, but do not want to spend a good bit on a meal that I won't like.. I love rock shrimp, but I have never tried black linguini. Squid ink sounds scary. Do they offer samples?

Hello again Deborah!  I can assure you that squid ink is not as scary as it sounds!  It really is used mostly for colouring of the pasta.  That being said, I know the Chef's at all Walt Disney World restaurants are more than happy to work with guests on substitutions of ingredients in dishes, and I'm sure they would be happy to substitute a different pasta that you are more comfortable eating.  Also, it certainly wouldn't hurt if you ask for a small sample of the pasta if you'd like to try it just to be sure.  I bet if they had some prepared, they would be more than happy to let you try it.   Who knows, squid-ink pasta may become your new favourite dish!

Deborah, I hope despite your misgivings, that you have a most enjoyable meal at Portobello Restaurant! Thanks again for your question, and have a magical day!
