Hi, there!
Katherine, I'm so happy to hear you'll be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort this summer. You're sure to have a magical stay with your precious family! As a mom of three, I know
traveling with little ones can pose a challenge. I totally understand your husband's concern about transportation! Let's chat about your options.
My family loves Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside. This unique Resort hotel is oozing with Southern charm and hospitality. My kids especially love the convenient ferryboat access to Disney Springs; they think it's an actual attraction! If you have a princess fan, they will surely swoon over the Royal Guest Room you have booked - so dreamy. My family stayed at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside when my little guys were 3 and 5-years old. We had no complaints about the transportation there. At most it took us about 20-minutes to get to or from a theme park, which we thought was totally manageable with the kids in tow.
I just love Disney's Contemporary Resort too. It features incredible views, and it's proximity to Magic Kingdom Park just can't be beat! Transportation here is certainly more convenient. Magic Kingdom Park is within walking distance, and Epcot is an easy monorail ride away. Do keep in mind, though, that you'll still need to rely on bus transportation to get to Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. A room in the Garden Wing would give your family of five a bit more space, but it would also lack Disney theming that little ones always appreciate.
I suggest keeping your reservation at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside for the sake of saving some money, but a split-stay (splitting your time between two or more Resort hotels) is a fantastic option too!
Please let me know if you have any other questions, Katherine!
