Hello, we have reservations at Port Orleans resort next month, is it okay if we do some engagement photos at the resort during our non park day? Thanks!

    Hi Angela, welcome to planDisney!

Whether you’re sharing your photos with friends and family or taking them as keepsakes for this momentous occasion in your relationship, I love the idea of incorporating your love of Walt Disney World Resort into your engagement photos.

The Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules state that photography, videotaping, and recording for unauthorized commercial purposes is prohibited. Since you are taking these photos for personal use, you should have no issues having your romantic photo session at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort. As a courtesy to other Guests, it is best to avoid obstructing any walkways or entrances throughout the Resort and abstaining from any dangerous activities.

Did you know that you can reserve a horse-drawn carriage ride at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort-Riverside? This Enchanting Extra takes you along the Sassagoula River which I think makes for the perfect backdrop for your photos. This experience can be booked online or in the My Disney Experience mobile app up to 60 days in advance of your stay. Another suggestion is to find a location or a photo prop that you can continue to use during future Walt Disney World Resort visits. My husband and I always like to take photos in the area where we got engaged in Magic Kingdom Park, it’s a sweet way to look back on our years together. We also took some silly photos while sharing a Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar, which I recommend, but while sharing some Mickey-shaped beignets from Scat Cat’s Club- Cafe

There are many ways you can make your photos your own because what really matters is that they convey the love you share for each other. If you are visiting the theme parks, make sure you stop by a Guest Relations location and ask for a complimentary celebration button so you can share your engagement news with everyone you meet. I hope you have the most magical visit to Walt Disney World Resort with your loved one, Angela. Thanks for stopping by planDisney and allowing me to share in the magic.

Wishing you a happily ever after,
