Ahoy David! Thanks for dropping by planDisney.
Blue Bayou Restaurant in New Orleans Square at Disneyland Park is an iconic, immersive dining experience. Who wouldn't want to dine in perpetual twilight while boats drift by? And the cajun and creole-inspired cuisine is tasty too! For all these reasons, it can be tricky to grab a coveted reservation at this dining location. All
dining reservations for Disneyland Resort are made online.
With your visit almost here, there isn't likely to be availability due to Blue Bayou Restaurant's popularity. I wish I could bail you out, but reservations typically open 60 days out at most Disneyland Resort dining locations. Blue Bayou Restaurant can fill up almost immediately. However, if you keep checking, you could luck into snagging a spot if someone cancels their reservation. Additionally, if you haven't managed to get a reservation prior to your arrival, you can try to join the walk-up list on your park day after your arrival. I can walk you through how to go about that on the
Disneyland mobile app.
On the app's map, change the select at the top from "Attractions" to "Dining." This will bring up a series of icons. Look for Blue Bayou Restaurant in New Orleans Square. On the icon for Blue Bayou Restaurant, tap "Blue Bayou Restaurant" and "Join Walk-Up List." There's no guarantee you'll get a spot, but I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
There are other tasty and immersive options to choose from if you don't get Blue Bayou Restaurant on this trip. Nearby Cafe Orleans serves similar cuisine, for example, although you won't be inside the Attraction. Plaza Inn on Main Street, U.S.A. is another iconic dining spot with well-loved menu items. It was designed by Walt's wife, Lillian Disney. Plus, it has a great view of Sleeping Beauty Castle! And if you're a Jedi in training or know one, the dining options in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge are incredibly immersive. Batuu is definitely worth a visit.
I hope this helps.
