Hi Molly,
Welcome to planDisney, thank you for stopping by with your question about Park Hopping!
Don't you just love the flexibility of having the
Park Hopper Option? By having the Park Hopper Option, you can do things like visit Disney's Animal Kingdom in the morning and experience a
Kilimanjaro Safari on a lush African savanna and then Park Hop on over to EPCOT at night and enjoy an authentic French pastry at
Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie at the France Pavilion. The possibilities are endless!
Currently at Walt Disney World Resort, Guests only need
theme park reservations for the first park they visit. Park Hopping opens up at 2:00, and if you have the Park Hopper Option you may visit any other theme park as long as they are not at capacity. Molly, in my experience the theme parks do not regularly reach capacity unless you are visiting during a very busy time of the year. For example, the week of Christmas is one of the most popular times to visit and Park Hopping may be limited. If you are not planning on visiting during an especially busy time of the year such as a holiday, you will likely not have much of an issue with Park Hopping.
However, before heading to your second park I always advise checking first to see if the theme park is open for Park Hopping. One way to check is by stopping by Guest Relations to ask a Cast Member if the theme park you want to visit has Park Hopper Availability. You can also check your
My Disney Experience App to see Park Hopper Availability and theme park hours for all the theme parks.
I hope this information helps you with your Magical vacation plans. Please stop by and visit us again with all of your future Disney vacation planning questions, we are always here to help!
