Greetings, Brad, and welcome to planDisney! Can you already hear the delightful harmonizing of the Dapper Dans and smell the sweet churros of Disneyland? It means your trip is almost here! Of course, you'll need both a valid ticket and park reservations for your magical visit to begin, so let's make sure you're all set.
Brad, I’m assuming you already have your theme park tickets and are ready to make a reservation. The first step will be to make sure your tickets are linked to your account. If they are not, sign in to your MyDisney account on the Disneyland website and head to the
"Link Tickets" page. Alternatively, on the
Disneyland mobile app, you'd tap the icon with the horizontal lines (☰), followed by "My Tickets & Passes," then the blue plus sign button at the top, and finally the "Link Tickets & Passes" option.
Once your tickets are linked, you can make reservations on the website or app. On the
"Theme Park Tickets & Reservations" page, click the "Make or Modify Park Reservations" button and follow the prompts. In the app, tap the plus sign at the bottom of the screen, and then "Make a Park Reservation." You can check the
Park Ticket Availability Calendar to see which dates and parks you can reserve. Select your ticket, choose a date in your calendar, and select a park. Make sure to press "Confirm" at the end.
When you go to make a reservation, you'll see pink (Disneyland) and blue (California Adventure) icons. A date with both means you can reserve either park. One icon means only that park can be reserved. A slash means no reservations are currently available for that day.
At the time of writing this, reservation availability appears to be limited for the week of January 5, 2026. Keep in mind this can change – additional reservations may be released since other Guests typically adjust their plans. Please also note that one-park-per-day tickets and Park Hopper tickets may have different availability. And remember, with a Park Hopper ticket, you can switch between parks starting at 11 a.m. (as long as you have a starting park reserved).
If you have one-park-per-day tickets and want to upgrade to a Park Hopper, you should be able to do that on the website or mobile app. On the website, from the "My Disneyland" dropdown menu, click "Change Your Theme Park Tickets" and see if you get a prompt to upgrade to a Park Hopper. On the Disneyland mobile app, navigate to the "My Tickets & Passes" section.
If you do not have theme park tickets yet, Brad, you can
purchase them on the Disneyland website. As part of the purchase process, you'll make your reservations. By the time checkout is complete, you'll be ready to go.
Both a valid ticket and theme park reservation are required to enter the park. If you're unable to get a reservation for one of the dates of your visit, you'd have to adjust your plans. As a Magic Key holder, I have a lot of experience with the reservation system, and learned that theme park reservations can become available even the night before. Keep checking back to see if things change.
Brad, I'll sprinkle a little pixie dust for you in hopes that you'll get your preferred reservations. If you have any questions, please reach out again – we're always happy to help here at planDisney!
Your pal,
Kriss
