More reservations have opened, can I turn my 1 day, 1 park tickets into a 2 day, 1 park tickets? Would that be cheaper than just buy another single day? I need the ticket to make the reservation and can't just 'upgrade' at the park.

Hi there, Julie! We are so happy to have you here at planDisney where we love helping fellow Guests plan their visits to the Happiest Place on Earth! Do you know what's better than one day in the magic? TWO! Let's see if we can find a way for you to add a day to your visit!

When it comes to Disney magic ... and Disney math, it is generally more cost-effective to buy a 2-day One Park Per Day ticket. While pricing is always subject to change, the cost of a current 2-day One Park Per Day ticket is $255. Single-day ticket pricing is based on day of the week and time of year with tickets falling into one of six tiers. Each of the tiers has its own set of black-out dates, ranging from Tier 1 which has the most to Tier 6 which has the least. Currently (and subject to change), Tier 1 tickets cost $104, so there is a small chance that you could end up with two, Tier 1 tickets that would be slightly less than the 2-day ticket. As we are walking into the summer months, however, I would imagine that the 2-day ticket would be your best bet budget-wise! You can do a little magical math and play around with ticket options on the Disneyland website if you know the dates that you are hoping to visit!

Upgrades are currently done in person at the Main Entrance Gates. I know, that's not the most magical news! I can tell that you are a Disney planner at heart, like myself, and we do not like to have anything up in the air before heading into the parks, especially a theme park reservation. One option would be to hold on to your current one-day tickets to use for another trip down the line and purchase a fresh set of 2-day tickets. There is a pretty long runway for your magic carpet with those original tickets. The expiration date for single-day tickets purchased this year is December 30, 2023! If that's not a feasible solution, my best suggestion would be to give the Guest Services team a call at (714) 781-4636 and discuss your situation directly. I'm sending a little pixie dust your way that it all works out for you and you end up with TWO magical days!

Julie, what I love most about the Disneyland Resort is that if I have a few days or only a few hours, I walk away with my heart smiling and humming my favorite Disney tunes. There is just something so special about being in the magic. A good way to get excited about your trip while you are planning is to give a listen to the new planDisney Podcast where my fellow panelists are dishing out the BEST tips and tricks for visiting the parks, including a few well-kept secrets!

If you have any more questions about your planning, come back to see us! We are always here for you at planDisney.

    Never stop dreaming,
