When does reservations open for dining and Mickey’s Magic Kingdom Christmas celebration? Will the parks and resorts be decorated for the holidays when we are there November 15/19?

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Laurie! The holiday season is one of my favorite times to visit Walt Disney World Resort. The theme parks and resort hotels are magical every single day of the year, but there's something extra special about seeing them all decorated and lit up for Christmas.

Magic Kingdom Park is usually the first place to see holiday decorations go up, because Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party typically starts in early November. We don't know the dates for this year's party quite yet, but they're usually announced in the springtime with tickets going on sale shortly after, so keep your eye on the Disney Parks Blog for more details. As for the other theme parks and the resort hotels, their decorations go up throughout the month of November, and are usually mostly complete by Thanksgiving. Make sure to visit Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to see one of my favorite Christmas decorations: the famous life-sized gingerbread house which takes over 400 hours to bake and over 160 hours to build and decorate every year!

As for dining, reservations for most Table-Service restaurants can be made 180 days in advance. This means that you'll be able to book dining for your family beginning in the middle of May, so now's a great time to start browsing some menus and thinking about where you'd like to eat!

    Have a magical day, Laurie!
