Hi Krystal! We are so happy you found your way to planDisney!
Let's take a look at your question! If you already have a
dining reservation for 7 people, you should be good to go. You do not need to confirm names ahead of time for a dining reservation. The Disneyland Mobile App currently does not allow you to share dining reservations with other Guests, so only the Guest that made the reservation will see it in their "Future Plans" or in the "My Day" tab within the mobile app. My personal workaround here is to send my whole party a regular calendar invite from my smartphone with an alert 15 minutes before the reservation. Not the most magic of solutions, but it usually does the trick!
If you have a reservation and are looking to add more Guests to your party, I have a few suggestions for you! I'm guessing you are unable to add your full party because the dining location does not have availability currently for a table of seven, but let's double-check. Within the
Disneyland Mobile App, head to the three-bar menu in the bottom right-hand corner and select "Future Plans". Here, you can select your current reservation and tap "Modify". Let's try adding Guests one at a time. The available times below will adjust every time you add a Guest. Keep going until you reach the point where there is no longer availability for your time slot. You can do this without actually making an official change or losing your reservation. If you are able to add any additional Guests, even if not your full 7, I would go ahead and confirm that modification. If you are not able to add any, keep your reservation as is for the moment. I have a few more suggestions you can try!
- Break your party into two smaller groups and try to secure two separate reservations. For you, I would try both a 3 and 4 split or even a 2 and 5 split. If you get a second reservation that is close to the same time as the first, you can always speak with the Cast Members upon arrival to see if there is a way to be seated together or near each other. They like to bring their pixie dust to the table, so they will try to accommodate you if space allows!
- Keep checking the restaurant for dining reservations. Guests are always changing their plans and reservations can often open up, especially as you get closer to your date! I would continue to hold onto your original reservation and keep trying for both a table of 7 or a smaller table for those not accommodated in the first reservation.
- In my experience, most dining locations will let you add one Guest at the time of check-in through the mobile app. This is not a guarantee, but I have seen this option a few times!
- It never hurts to ask! When the restaurant opens for the day, head on over and talk to the host. Let them know your situation and just ask if there's any way to accommodate your full party. You never know!
- Once you scan into the parks, check the Mobile Dine Walk-Up Availability list! Select restaurants will post same-day availability. You won't have much control over the timing, but it's a great way to try to get a last-minute reservation! Just head into the app, tap the "+" in the bottom navigation bar, and select "Check Dining Availability". Choose the current day and party size, and select "Now" as the time to see what might be available.
