Hi! I have reservations for 6 nights with the meal plan but I am thinking of adding an additional night (we would like to explore Orlando outside of Disney). Can I add an additional evening to my hotel but not the meal plan?

    Hi Marcie,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us another question!

The way that the Disney Dining Plans work is that, once you’ve added them to your Disney Resort Hotel Package, you need to keep the same entitlements for every night of your stay. That means that, if you wanted to add an additional night at your Walt Disney World Resort hotel to your package, you’d also need to add an extra night for the Disney Dining Plan you’ve picked, too.

That being said, you do have another option! You can always make a separate, “room only” reservation for the same Walt Disney World Resort hotel for that extra night. That way, you’d only have to pay for your room and not for any additional package entitlements that may have applied to your previous six nights. When you check in for your stay, please give the Cast Member who will be assisting you both reservation numbers, so that they can try to link the two of them in the system (which should avoid making you change rooms when your first reservation ends).

Of course, keeping your package for an extra day also comes with some handy benefits, especially regarding your Disney Dining Plan. Because you can use your entire stay’s dining entitlements the moment you check in, those extra “credits” could be used to enjoy a Signature Dining experience or even a Dinner Show during your first six nights, without needing to figure out which day you’d like to skip a table service meal. I’d actually recommend going that route, instead, if you’re interested in having additional dining flexibility during your Disney Parks vacation.

Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions!

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
