    I have reservations for Mickey's Backyard BBQ on the last day of our trip. We need to get back to the car ASAP after the show in order to get to the airport. Is it best to park at Fort Wilderness or to take the boat from Magic Kingdom?

    Hi Leigh!

    It sounds like you have a late flight out on your last day of a great Walt Disney World vacation. You will be making the most of your time and ending it with Mickey’s Backyard Barbecue is a great way to top things off.

    Your fastest way to reach your car after this dinner event will be to park at the Fort Wilderness Resort. You will be parking at the front of the resort near the check-in building and the main bus depot. You will then walk to this bus area and hop on the orange internal bus. This will drop you off at the Pioneer Hall stop where it is a short walk to the barbecue area.

    Once you have finished with your dinner and show you will catch the bus at the same location it dropped you off at and return to the front of the resort. This will be faster then trying to catch a boat back to the Magic Kingdom. Parking at the Magic Kingdom means you will then have to catch the ferry or the monorail and take a tram back to your car.

    Enjoy the barbecue and show. It is one of my favorite things to do with the family and a perfect way to end your vacation if time allows!
