We have reservations for May 12-19 & have reserved a Royal Room at POR. I want to be close to dining and swimming because we have a 4 & 2 yr old. I know you can call and request rooms in a certain building. How soon should I do this?

Hey there Joshua!  Your visit to Walt Disney World is right around the corner and how exciting that you will be among the first guests to stay in the all new Royal Guest Rooms at Port Orleans Riverside!

The Royal Guest Rooms at Port Orleans Riverside are set to open to guests in early March.  At the time of your trip, Royal Guest Rooms will be available in buildings 90 and 95 of Magnolia Bend.  In my opinion, building 90 is possibly the most ideally located of all the buildings because it is situated on the picturesque Sassagoula River, right near a quiet pool and a grassy courtyard in which evening movies are shown.  Building 90 is located steps away from the bridge to Ol' Man Island, the resort's main pool and recreation area as well as Sassagoula Steam Boat Company, the main building which houses the lobby, dining, and shopping.

You can make this request now, if you like, by calling the friendly travel planning experts at the Walt DIsney Travel Company at (407)WDISNEY.  It's also a good idea to call the resort directly a day or two before your arrival, to confirm, and I always mention it at check-in as well!  Special requests are not guaranteed, but the cast members at Port Orleans will do their very best to accommodate you!

Here's wishing you a most magical vacation! -Amanda F.
