If I have reservations for Magic kingdom and am staying at the Caribbean resort can I take the skyliner and then the monorail??

Hello and welcome to planDisney, Candace!

With the new park pass reservation system, and the fact that park hopping does not start until 2:00 p.m. you really aren't able to use the transportation to get from Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort to Magic Kingdom Park as you asked. There's a lot of new technicalities that factor into this that just won't make it possible for you to do it.

The best way for you to get to Magic Kingdom Park from Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is going to be to take the complimentary bus. What I like about using the bus service is that it is direct so it is going to get you there the absolute quickest out of all of the transportation options from that resort.

To get your scenario to work, you would have to visit Magic Kingdom Park in the morning and scan in since that is where your park pass reservations is for. Then, you'd also have to have the park hopper ticket option. After 2:00 p.m., if you were back at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort after you had already visited Magic Kingdom Park you could hop on the Disney Skyliner over to Epcot. The Skyliner drops you off at the Internation Gateway which is located toward the back of Epcot in The World Showcase area. You'd have to scan into Epcot and walk through the park up to the front and then exit Epcot to get to the monorail. Then, you'd ride the monorail over to the Transportation and Ticket Center and switch lines over to Magic Kingdom Park. As you can see it would have to be a perfect alignment of tickets, times and forms of transportation for that to work. It will be much easier to take the bus.

If you'd like to use the Disney Skyliner at some point during your trip, from Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort you can get to Epcot or Disney's Hollywood Studios directly. If you are going to either of those theme parks, that's a great time to take a ride high in the sky.

I hope this helps plan your transportation route a little bit better, Candace. If you have any other questions as you plan your Walt Disney World vacation, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm here to help. Have fun and happy planning!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
