We have reservations 11/8 Magic Kingdom and 11/9 Epcot. We were not aware when booking that the Very Merry Christmas started on 11/8 and would impact our visit to Magic Kingdom. I don't see on line where there is availability to switch dates. Help!

Hello and welcome to planDisney, Patricia. Thanks for stopping by with your question.

Are you getting so excited about your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation? It's in just a few short days, I hope the countdown is on!

I went ahead and took a look at the Walt Disney World Theme Park availability calendar and I do see where Magic Kingdom Park does not have any availability for November 9th. So, unfortunately, you wouldn't be able to switch your days around to go to that specific park.

However, you do have some other options. The first would be to keep your itinerary as is and go and enjoy Magic Kingdom Park right up until the closing time which will be at 6:00 p.m. If you are in line for an attraction when the clock strikes 6:00 p.m. - stay there. They aren't going to rush you out. Once you've finished, a friendly Cast Member will ask you to make your way toward the exit of the park. After that, you could head over to Disney Springs to finish out your night. Disney Springs is the shopping, dining and entertainment hub of Walt Disney World. After a long day at Magic Kingdom Park, it could be fun to enjoy a nice sit-down meal, maybe at The BOATHOUSE and talk about highlights from the day. Then you could end the night with a little souvenir shopping. Alternatively, you could leave Magic Kingdom Park and take the monorail over to one of the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels that are nearby. My favorite spot to hang out is at the Tambu Lounge at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. You can enjoy snacks and sips from the bar and wait for the firework show. From the lounge, you have a perfect view of Cinderella Castle.

Another option would be to add the park hopper on to your Walt Disney World Theme Park tickets. Park hopping allows you to visit multiple Walt Disney World Theme Parks in one day. You could spend the morning at Magic Kingdom Park but then hop over to another Walt Disney World Theme Park to enjoy the evening hours over there. This would really maximize your day and ticket purchase.

I hope one of my suggestions will spark an idea that you'll love, Patricia. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach back out to me. I'm happy to help.

    Have fun!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
