If reservations have been made with the Dining plan included, then Disney gives a promotion for the dining plan, how is the money refunded? Could the money be refunded/added to the Magic bands to use for something else?

    Hi Alycia,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

If I understand your question correctly, you’ve already booked your family’s upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort and you included a Disney Dining Plan with your stay. Since you made that reservation, a new Special Offer has come out that includes a free or discounted Disney Dining Plan and you’re wondering whether that promotion will be applied to your stay.

Special Offers are never automatically applied to existing reservations. You have to contact your travel agent or contact Walt Disney World Resort directly in order to see whether it is possible to re-book your existing vacation package in order to take advantage of a given promotion.

If it is possible for you to cancel and re-book your vacation, then you’ll get a refund with the same payment method that you used to reserve your initial vacation (i.e. you’ll get a refund on your credit card). Those kinds of refunds aren’t given to you as Resort credit, but you can definitely choose to transform the money you may get back into credits of your own by purchasing a Disney Gift Card to use during your stay!

Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
