Welcome to planDisney, Donnelly! It won't be long before you are following the second star to the right, straight on to
Walt Disney World Resort.
I am so glad you flew by with this question. Like you, I am trying to figure out some of these details, too. My kids are old enough to have their own
My Disney Experience accounts and explore the parks on their own. We are only a few years away from being able to do
Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour. I can't wait! (I've shown great personal restraint in waiting to go as a family.)
I was curious when I saw your question, so I reached out to a Cast Member. You do have to be 18 years old to make purchases on the
My Disney Experience app, including
Mobile Food Orders, even with a
dining plan. Your son will be able to use his
MagicBand+ or Key to the World card for meals and snacks on the dining plan. He will just need to let the Cast Member know he is using the dining plan; scan his band or card; and use the PIN you have set for the account. When you check into your
Disney Resorts Collection hotel, you can verify with the Cast Members at the front desk that he has these privileges. You can also let them know if you do not want to give him access to do this.
Have you heard of
Tiny World Magic Shots? I ask because being a mom of teen boys, getting photos is becoming more challenging. I am looking forward to our next trip and introducing them to these fun photo innovations. And for my son who loves geography, the
Super Zoom Magic Shots might get him to stop between thrill rides long enough to capture one of these photos.
If you have any other questions as you get ready for your trip in just a few months, please come back to
planDisney. We are here for you!
Never grow up!
