I have reservations for Hoop Dee Doo on Sept. 11, at 7:15. We are staying at Pop, and are planning on being at the MK that day. We will have our own car. Logistically what is the best way to get around? What time should we leave MK to make it to the show?

    Steve:

    You have two choices:

    1. Keep your car parked and take the bus to Magic Kingdom. At 6:30 p.m. or so, take the boat launch to Fort Wilderness and enjoy the dinner show. Afterward, take the boat launch back to Magic Kingdom and catch the bus back to Pop Century.  The only caveat: if Magic Kingdom closes early, the boat launch will shut down during dinner. However, there will be a sign at the pier when you disembark instructing you that the boat will not be running and a bus to your resort will await you at the Outpost after dinner. You'll simply take Fort Wilderness's internal bus (from the bus stop beside Pioneer Hall in the opposite direction from the pier) to its external Outpost bus stop to catch a bus to Pop Century.

    2. You can drive your car and park it in the overflow (not regular) parking lot of Fort Wilderness the morning you are headed to Magic Kingdom.  This parking lot is for guests attending Hoop Dee Doo as well as overflow from the campground.  Walk 50 yards over to the bus stop and take one of the internal buses (I prefer the Orange Line) to Pioneer Hall. From there, walk to the boat launch at the pier over to Magic Kingdom.  In the evening, take the boat back to the fort.

I would prefer #2 over taking the bus, simply because I'm in control of my departure after the show. However, if you are uncomfortable with the navigation between the resorts, don't blink an eye at using Disney's dependable bus transportation.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
