Hi there William!
Think of it as a regular restaurant and you will be fine! As long as the rest of your family is still at the table when you go sign him up, I would not see a problem with you leaving for a few minutes to sign up your child. I spoke with one of the cast members at the Training Academy a couple of days ago and she confirmed that you really have to go when the park opens to sign your kids up for the ride. Also, as you mentioned, your child or children must be present to be able to sign up to take part in the Jedi Training Academy. Also, make sure to check the Times Guide at the park for character appearance locations, parade, and show times. Times Guides are available at the Park entrance, Guest Relations, and most merchandise locations. I hope this helps with your planning. Thanks so much for asking the Moms Panel and have a great time at the Walt Disney World Resort!!!!
