We have reservations at Fort Wilderness Campground but may want to go to a theme park the day we arrive for check in at FWC. Since check-in is not until 3 or 4, can we park our camper somewhere for the day? Is it complimentary since we have reservations?

Hi Donna! Fort Wilderness Campground Resort is where I usually call my home during my stays at Walt Disney World. This fall we are enjoying about a three month stay before heading back up north.

Check-in for the campsites is at 1pm as it does not take long to turn the pads around for the next guest. If you are staying at the cabins then it is the later check in time.

You are welcome to arrive early and get the check-in process done. There is a grass over flow area as well as a concrete area where you can place the RV if your site is not open when you arrive. Depending on the time of year you might find the site open early as the weekends are usually totally full but not necessarily during the week. There is no charge to temporarily park in these locations. You can then use the Fort Wilderness transportation to reach the park of your choice during the day.

I will suggest you try to come back before dark to get your vehicle into the site. Some are tight and harder to negotiate and especially after dark. I am speaking from experience! I hope you will enjoy this great resort as much as I do!
