Hiya pal, and welcome to planDisney!
While it’s true that the theme parks are obviously the main attraction at Walt Disney World, I get really excited when someone wants to dig into those hidden gems beyond the rides. Swapping out the parks hustle for some quiet time on the water is such an underrated way to do Disney. It's calming, totally unexpected, and gives you this awesome breather when everything else feels go-go-go.
There are two options of fishing experiences you can enjoy during your visit. For a guided catch-and-release experience, the Guided Fishing Excursions will add the perfect sprinkle of magic! This is part of
Disney's Enchanting Extras Collection. You can choose from Guided Bass Fishing Excursions for up to 5 guests, or a tournament-style NITRO® bass fishing boat that accommodates up to 3 Guests.
To book this experience, you'll want to call (407) 939-3474. Make sure to give them a call asap, especially if you're going during a busy time, so you can secure your spot.
Your guide brings all the gear: Rods, reels, tackle, bait, drinks, the works. You're totally fine to pack your own snacks or non-alcoholic drinks, and if you're 21+, feel free to BYOB (just bring your ID). They'll have life jackets ready, and kids 12 and under have to wear them the whole time.
The trips leave from several
Disney resort hotel marinas, some near Magic Kingdom, some by EPCOT, and each spot has its own vibe and gorgeous views. Oh, and if you'd rather keep it more laid back and relaxed, a few resorts also offer dockside fishing where you can just rent a pole and fish right from the shore.
One last thing from a Florida local! Add to packing list: Sunscreen. Sunglasses. Hat. Trust me. And if you've got a minute before your trip, maybe practice your cast a couple times. It'll make the whole experience way smoother and more fun.
I love that you're mixing in an Enchanting Extra like this. It's such a nice balance. You get your adrenaline fix in the parks, then something totally peaceful and low-key to round it out. And don’t forget, if you want help planning what to do or where to eat around your fishing day, just let me know. I'm happy to help you reel it all in!
