Hi Lara and welcome to planDisney!
There is no better place to celebrate a special occasion than at Walt Disney World! In the most recent years, my kids have opted for a Disney vacation rather than having a party. Cake is my love language, so having something special for when you arrive is a great way to surprise your kiddos and start your Walt Disney World vacation on a (sugar) high note!
Procedures for placing a cake order at Walt Disney World have vastly changed over the years. We used to get beautiful custom cakes delivered to our dinner table when we were celebrating a birthday, but it seems they have minimized the options to just a
Mickey Mouse Celebration Dome Cake, which is delicious! We had the white chocolate one last year and didn't have a crumb left. Unfortunately, these cakes are currently only available at select
Walt Disney World restaurants, so take a look at the long list and see if you'll be dining at any of them during your trip. It's equally as exciting to have a special cake brought out to your table after a delicious meal. Anything you don't finish can be brought back to your
Disney Resort hotel room afterwards. Two thumbs up for cake for breakfast!
My favorite place at Walt Disney World to get a cake is at
Amorette's Patisserie in
Disney Springs. They have the most beautiful cakes, including character dome cakes, that are filled with layers of deliciousness. Delivery is not available, but you can pre-order a cake for pick-up and have a nice afternoon at Disney Springs while you're there.
Another option is looking into
Disney Floral & Gifts. They make beautiful gift baskets filled with snacks, goodies, and some include room decor like balloons and banners. There are several birthday packages available and there is a cupcake package as well. The best part is that they deliver right to your Disney Resort Hotel room!
Be sure to stop by any Guest Relations or the front desk of your Resort hotel to pick up complimentary celebration buttons for your kiddos. They're a fun way to show their celebration pride while on vacation.
Please stop back by and visit if you have any additional vacation planning questions.
Have a magical day!
Leslie
