Hello, Lewis. Welcome to planDisney.
I think you are very much going to enjoy staying at
Disney's Art of Animation Resort on your visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth at the start of next year. What a way to kick off 2022! You definitely are on the right track to a really great vacation.
Park pass reservations are actually associated with theme park tickets. You'll need to have theme park tickets attached to your MyDisneyExperience account to make park pass reservations. The
theme park availability calendar for park pass reservations is broken down into three categories, Guests with tickets only, Guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel and Annual Passholders. Each category has its own calendar and theme park availability to choose from. Because you are an on-property Guest, that is the calendar that you will want to be looking at when making your selections.
After you've purchased your theme park tickets (if you haven't already done so) and linked them to your
MyDisneyExperience account, you can head over to the park pass reservation website. You'll select your travel party, a date on the calendar and the Walt Disney World Theme Park you'd like to visit. If all goes well and there is availability, you'll be taken to a confirmation screen. You'll want to repeat this process for every day you'd like to go to the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. If you've upgraded your theme park tickets to include the park hopper option, you still will need park pass reservations. Guests wishing to park hop must have park pass reservations for the initial theme park they'd like to visit each day. Then, on the day of, Guests wishing to park hop must scan in and enter the theme park with the park pass reservation before continuing on to other parks. It is not necessary to make multiple park pass reservations for one day to park hop. Park hopping hours now start at 2:00 p.m. and last until each theme park closes in the evenings.
I know I've thrown a lot of information your way, Lewis. If you need more clarification or have any other questions please feel free to stop back by and
ask me. I'm more than happy to help!
Happy planning!
