We have reservations for Disney from January 11th thru the 16th and are staying at the Caribbean Resort. Our question to you is, do you know if there will still be Christmas decorations up at that time? We really hope so!!

Hey there Diane, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I can't blame you one bit for wanting to catch a glimpse of the Walt Disney World holiday finery. The most wonderful time of the year at the Most Magical Place on Earth is an extra special holiday treat that everyone should see at least once.

Here's what I can tell you for sure. We visited during the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend around the second week of January this year and were pleasantly surprised to see that the Theme Parks were still decked out in their holiday splendor. Next year's marathon weekend takes place January 6-10, so you may just catch the very last of the decorations before they're put away for another year - or you may just miss it by a day.

I wouldn't expect to see any lingering Christmas spirit at the Resort hotels since they'll likely be wrapped up right after New Year's. Also, the special holiday events like Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and Epcot's Candlelight Processional will have ended well before then.

There isn't any official word on when the decorations come down, Diane, so do be aware that last year's schedule is only a guide and things could be different this year. But if you're lucky, and Santa feels like enjoying just a little more Florida sun, you may be able to enjoy a bit of Disney holiday spirit.

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
