I have reservations for dinner at California grill in May, we have gone the past two years and have had the same server is it possible to call the restaurant on the day and request the same person if he is working

    Hi Faith,

California Grill is one of my very favorite restaurants at Walt Disney World Resort! Clearly you have discovered what an incredible dining experience this is too, since you are heading back for your third visit. What a neat treat to have had the same wonderful server each year. We, too, have our favorite servers and it is extra special when we return year after year and see them again. As you likely know, the servers are assigned to specific stations, and you would need to be seated in his section. Your best bet would be to ask at the check-in podium when you arrive for your Advanced Dining Reservation. Unless your reservation is the first seating time of the evening, you will end up at the mercy of when the people dining before you finish their meals, as to when specific tables open up. If it is a top-priority for you to have a specific server (provided that he is working that evening), you can let the host or hostess know that you would be willing to wait for a table to clear in his section. You'll want to note that you may be setting yourselves up to wait a long time. Guests who dine at California Grill often will linger for several hours.

I hope you get an extra sprinkling of pixie dust and that your favorite server will be there to help continue your tradition. Either way, I know that you will have an absolutely enchanting evening together.

    Wishing you magical memories,

    Kaylene
