How do you make reservations for dining or Savi's workshop 60 days out from your hotel check-in date when staying at a Disney Resort?

    Hello there Jeremy,

Welcome to planDisney! There are so many ways to make your Walt Disney World Vacation more enchanting, and dining and Enchanting Extras like Savi's Workshop are two great ones.

As a Walt Disney World Resort Collection Hotel Guest, you can begin booking dining and Enchanting Extra's reservations 60 days (plus the length of your resort hotel stay) in advance of your arrival. So if you have a week-long stay at Disney's Art of Animation, for instance, you would be able to book 67 days out from your trip. Starting at 5:45 am EST of the first day of the 60+ day mark, you will be able to begin booking dining and Enchanting Extras reservations.

So let's start with how to make reservations for dining experiences at Walt Disney World Resort. Before you begin, make sure that your Walt Disney World Resort Collection Hotel is linked through your My Disney Experience account. This will allow you to take advantage of the extended reservation window for being a Resort Guest. You can book dining reservations through both the My Disney Experience mobile app and online through the website; however, I prefer using the website for dining reservations. I think it is a little easier to navigate and a lot easier to see than a mobile device. What is great about the website is that you can also filter by the Theme Park, Resort Hotel, type of dining experience (i.e., table service or buffet), price range, and cuisine type. You can also just input your dates, times, and party size. Input as many or as few details (at a minimum, you will need a date, party size, and time frame) and select the green "Search Times" button. All of the available dining reservations that meet your parameters will appear. You can then scroll through the offerings, select the individual location to view the menu and make your reservation.

Now on to the most popular experience in the galaxy. Savi's Workshop-Handbuilt Lightsabers is perhaps one of the best and most immersive experiences at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge (or at least in my humble opinion). Unfortunately, reservations for Savi's tend to fill up quicker than dining reservations sometimes due to its popularity. To book Savi's, you will need to go to the website and select your date ranges for your visit and the number of builders. Note that each reservation can only accommodate one builder and one non-building Guest. If you have multiple people who want to build a lightsaber, you will need to indicate so. You will then see the available times/dates based on your information. Note, just like with a dining reservation; you will need to secure your reservation with a credit card. If you don't see reservations for the time you want, check back again (especially in the week leading up to your vacation). Guests' plans are constantly changing, and to avoid cancellation fees; you can often find reservations opening up closer to the date of the experience.

I hope this helps you get your reservations made for your upcoming trip. Please reach out if you want any additional recommendations for dining experiences. I definitely could talk about food for a "long, long time."

    Happy Planning,

    Ashley F.
