We have reservations described in this manner: Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village-2BRV-Sav WChrAcc Tub OptHr K Q 2DSS SChr. I understand all of Disney's abbreviations except for the OptHr one. Could you tell me what the OptHr stands for?

    Hi Patricia,

What a great villa you have reserved!  A two-bedroom villa at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village is a great choice.

The room that you have reserved is a room for guests with disabilities, and the "OptHr" is related to that.  "OptHr" stands for "Optional Communication Features."  These all relate to hearing impairment.  The features available in your room, if you request them, are a visual alarm, visual door knock/doorbell alert, visual telephone call alert, telephone with volume control, outlet near telephone jack, and TTY (text telephone).

If you require any of these devices, you can request them on your reservation.  If you made your reservation through Disney Vacation Club Member Services, call 1-800-800-9800.  If you made your reservations directly through Disney, call 407-W-DISNEY (407-934-7639).  If you used a travel agency, call them.  All of these would be for requests made 10 days or more ahead of your arrival.  Within 10 days of your arrival, call Kidani Village directly at 407-938-7400 to request these devices for your reservation.

I hope that this information helps, Patricia!  Have a great vacation and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
