If we make reservations for a day and then don’t end up going due to weather, do we use a day? We have passes already.

Hello, Ann! Welcome to planDisney! Wow, just one week to go until your Walt Disney World vacation. I bet you’re happier than Winnie the Pooh with a brand new jar of honey!

I know how it feels to get your Walt Disney World plans all set up exactly the way you want them, only to find that Mother Nature has decided not to cooperate. Fortunately, Disney gives us some wiggle room so that we can easily change things up when we need to. If the weather forecast looks like the rain-rain-rain will come down-down-down on one of your Theme Park days, you can always cancel your Disney Park Pass reservation and reschedule it for a different day (although I’d check the calendar and make sure your new day has availability before canceling). You can even cancel your Disney Park Pass as late as the actual day of your reservation, so you can wait out the weather as long as you like. Either way, it will only count as a use if you actually enter a Theme Park that day.

Ann, if you don’t mind a little rain on your parade, you could consider keeping that reservation and going to the Park anyway. The Theme Parks are actually quite nice in the rain, and it helps keep the crowd levels lighter. My planDisney pal Anne Marie has some great tips on prepping for a rainy day in the Parks if you decide to hop into your rain gear and go!

I hope this helps you plan a magical day at Walt Disney World come rain or come shine, Ann. Have fun, and please come see us again if you have any more questions!

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
